Required Health and Safety Training

FreeAccording to child care rule, child care administrators and staff members must complete health and safety training within one year of employment unless the staff member has completed the training within the year prior to beginning employment. The health and safety training covers 11 topic areas. Health and safety training shall be in addition to the new staff orientation requirements. For child care staff who have been employed for more than one year, health and safety training shall be completed as part of on-going training so that all required topics are covered over the five year period.
Topics covered on 2/22/20:
Prevention and control of infectious diseases, including immunizations
Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome, Abusive Head Trauma and child maltreatment
Administration of medication, with standards for parental consent.
Prevention of and response to emergencies due to food and allergic reactions
