Family Support

Supporting Chatham County families with young children by providing essential items like diapers, wipes, and hygiene products. Helping families access free supplies and connect with community resources that promote health, stability, and early development.

How did it go?

This year, we launched the Family Resource Center, bringing together a broader range of family support services under one roof, including ChAMPS, Chatham’s new maternal and infant supply bank. The center serves as a welcoming place where families can access child care referrals, essential pediatric and maternal supplies, and connections to child care and other community resources. As more families and community partners learned about the center, we continued to improve our processes and expand the services available. The grand opening, increased community awareness, strong partnerships, and generous donations helped us broaden our impact. As demand for the center grew, maintaining a consistent inventory of essential items became more challenging, leading us to refine our processes and strengthen collaborations with community partners to ensure we can continue meeting families’ evolving needs.

Successes

Diaper Program Opens the Door to More Family Support

Many families who first visited the Family Resource Center for diapers through ChAMPS have been connected with other programs and services that help meet their needs. Seeing families become more comfortable reaching out for support has reinforced the importance of creating a welcoming place where families can access essential supplies while also learning about additional resources that support their overall well-being.

More Than Candy: Fall Event Creates Lasting Impact for Families with Young Children

The BOOst Your Wellness Trunk-or-Treat, held in Fall 2025, was a family-friendly event hosted by Radiance RX in support of ChAMPS. The event resulted in the collection of more than 700 diapers for families with young children in Chatham County. This contribution provided a strong foundation for ChAMPS’ initial inventory as we prepare for ongoing distribution.

113 children from 72 families were served through ChAMPS distribution events!
