Family Support
Supporting Chatham County families with young children by providing essential items like diapers, wipes, and hygiene products. Helping families access free supplies and connect with community resources that promote health, stability, and early development.
How is it going?
The ChAMPS program is off to a strong and promising start, with the initial phase focused on building a solid foundation through developing procedures, securing funding, engaging partners, and planning logistics. Although the start-up process has taken more time than anticipated, it has generated significant interest and enthusiasm from community agencies and businesses, confirming a clear need for the program. Community engagement has been a particular strength, with early collaboration helping to shape program operations, strengthen referral pathways, and ensure services align with family needs. While the program is still in its early stages, these efforts have positioned ChAMPS well for successful implementation and growth as regular distribution events begin.
Successes
The BOOst Your Wellness Trunk-or-Treat, held in Fall 2025, was a family-friendly event hosted by Radiance RX in support of ChAMPS The event resulted in the collection of more than 700 diapers for families with young children in Chatham County. This contribution provided a strong foundation for ChAMPS’ initial inventory as we prepare for ongoing distribution.
