Cooking with Local Foods for Child Care Centers

Do you want to serve healthy meals using locally sourced ingredients but don’t know where to start?  Where is the best place to get local foods?  What meals will the children eat?  Will these meals be approved by the CACFP?  What do I do about picky eaters?  Come to this training and learn from an experienced child care center director and assistant director.  Heidi Lineberry and Jennifer Walters of Sonflower Seeds Child Care Center will share their favorite kid friendly meals using locally sourced foods while answering these questions and more.  There will also be a 15 minute food prep presentation by Phyllis Smith from the Chatham County Cooperative Extension.   Participants will be ask to share some of their favorite recipes as well so come prepared.  This training is only for child care directors/owners/assistant directors or other child care staff involved with food preparation. 

*Please note this training will be held at the Chatham County Agricultural and Conference Center.  Participants should enter the through the door on the left side of the building.
