Safety and Supervision
August 17 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeAt its most basic level child care rules and regulations were created to keep children safe. Regardless of how wonderful a child care program is or how amazing the enrichment activities offered, none of that matters if children’s safety is not the primary goal. While the environment may have safety features, it is ultimately adult supervision that determines how safe a program is for the children enrolled. Whether you are a new child care provider, or have been teaching for years, the topics covered in this training will help you. Topics include:
- Adequate supervision as described by NC DCDEE licensing regulations
- The six steps of active supervision (ECLKC)
- Procedures- the tools to help ensure that policies are followed
- Supervising as part of a team
- Communication and accountability
- Supervision challenges:
- Mealtimes
- Naptime
- Outdoor Play
- Distractions
