Fall Container Gardening Class
August 16, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeCome and learn the basics of container gardening with two of Chatham County’s master gardeners. Gardening in child care is a fun and education opportunity for your children, staff, and parents. Children are more likely to eat vegetables when they help grow and harvest them. Gardening is considered a “best practice” in early childhood education that promotes outdoor learning and healthy eating. Gardening can be easy when you use containers. Each center that is represented will plant four containers with spaghetti squash, radishes, leaf lettuce and carrots. This class is for child care owners, directors and staff who want to garden in the child care center. The containers that are provided are meant to be placed at your child care facility. Please come wearing comfortable clothing and shoes. Bring gardening gloves if you have them, if not latex gloves will be provided. This class will be at CCCC’s Siler City Campus. Please come through the front doors. Signs will direct you to the training room.
